Rob, is there some confusion as to my gender here? I'm XX, not XY ....
I should apologize for my snark. That *particular* item is a huge hot button for me. There's a biiiiiiiiggggg difference between honest communication of emotion and whining; it all depends on the delivery (and attendant expectations). Just about everything else on your list, I agree with. And your description of the Queens followed by hagridden drones ..... I've seen it too, and I think it sucks.

Just for the record (not that you would care Rob) I want it noted that I have no major objections to what Rob is saying apart from some...parts where IMO I think he took it overboard for my taste(but that is just my oppinion). In general I agree with him (and Deida lol)
I mentioned Deida to tease Smiley because he has posted before how he hates him. And I remember thinking back then: chil dude, read between the lines if you have to, but listen to what he says, there is truth in some of his words and I think you need it... But that was months ago...
Coach, I wish I could get your post. NFC what all that was. Sometimes I am completely out of touch-yes I know it shows K
I don't know how it factors in to your book, but I agree with Rob on the weakness thing. Yes, on (rare) occasion, it is nice to see some vulnerability from your man. Like, when my h's grandfather died, he cried like a baby. Because that man was his role model/mentor...in fact he has commented a time or two that his grandfather would be immensely disappointed in his actions of late, but I digress--
In certain situations, that is fine. But give me a sweaty guy in dirty jeans and workboots over a metrosexual in a turtleneck sweater with a fresh manicure....
Big picture, I think that men should not be afraid to step up and be leaders in their families. Not in an obnoxious egotistical "I Tarzan, you Jane" way. But in a "this family means the world to me and I will step up to protect/defend/provide for us no matter what" kind of way. It is NOT attractive to think your Husband has no plan/goal/vision for the future of his family, nor a clue how to make the vision reality...

Hallelujah. And we women need to know how to back off, let them lead and not bust their balls if they miss the mark.
and to think some people have recommended that I read Deida's books and then I hear that I might sound like him UGG!!! LOL!
I pledge to everyone on this forum I won't ever be plunging my shaft of masculinity into any roses regardless if Deida personally asks me to do this or not LOL!
If Deida does in fact talk like in his books I'm sure he would be successful as a stand up comedian on the "Nasty Show", they talk like that on that show (and then some) all the time ;-)

Of all things, I was home with a sick kid one day and passed by "The View" on TV...(ick, I know!)
Sherri Shephard was making some comment about hearing a noise in the house in the middle of the night. She said her then-recent separation had her wishing there was a man in the house to go check out the noise...
Joy got defensive and said she didn't need a man to go checking for noises...Sherri said she knew she didn't need a man for that, but she wanted him to, she LIKED the idea of having a strong protector at home.
