Thanks, BR! I talked to the therapist and the billing person at the office today and they said I shouldn't worry. Very understanding. I live in a small town with a good amount of people with low budgets, so I'm probably not the first. They said they would let me pay next week no problem, and will bill me. They were totally sweet about it, very nice people.
Thats great news Karen. Im sure that with the economy going the way it is this kind of thing is happening a little more often than it used to. Im glad that you asked! Perfect!!
I guess I gave the wrong finger to the wrong man...
Well, good news & bad today. The good is the OT/speech place said if we schedule her appts. back-to-back on the same day like we did today-the copay is only $25 a week instead of $50. So I'm like yeah let's keep doing that!
Bad news is: I don't have a cell this next week (or ever probably). I signed up for a company that rhymes with "allsmell" and signed a contract for $60 a month. Well, my bill came in last month and was $120. I went in and the guy told me it was b/c the day I signed up (the 13th maybe???) I had to pay 2 months for the one month, but told me this month's bill will be $70 and I said good, b/c I literally don't have $120 a month for a cell phone. So I get the bill today and it's $120 again!!! The same guy looked it up and said it was for taxes (I have no texting, or anything, but $5 or $10 for the monthly insurance.) So I gave them the phone and said give it to someone that can use it. Seriously, it barely worked as you know, Kat!!!
The guy says I have to pay $200 to get out of the contract. Um, didn't they break the contract by charging me $120 each month for a $60 plan? I was thinking I have to pay the $120 again this month, but do I really have to pay an additional $200 to get out of the contract? I mean I know it will hurt my credit, but since I'm going through B and Foreclosure in the next months, that's obviously not a big concern.
And I'm going to get a landline next week which I know from before is $30 a month here. And I won't have to deal with the cell phone company either! Karen
You could also look at getting the phone jack that you plug into your USB port on your computer. It is like $20 a year and you get free local and long distance. Wouldn't hurt to check I think.
I can't check my e-mail from here but I can see maybe the last 5 or so e-mail senders. Wouldn't you know there is another one from ex. Blech!!
I will shoot you an e-mail later. At least somethings are looking up.

Do you use your cell for only emergencies? If so, get a pay as you go one. Makes you budget better. Cells are a want not a need in my opinion...unless it is your only phone or you need it often for emergencies.
I'm glad the copay went down for you....that's a big plus!
You can still call 911 from a phone that isnt on a service contract. As long as it can get a signal any cell phone will still call 911. Also, in Ak there are a few cell phone companies that do what they call a "Lifeline" program. Its $1 a month for 1000 minutes, and a free phone. Im pretty salty about it because Im paying $55 a month! I have to wonder how much am I overpaying if they can afford to give away minutes and phones! Grumble...grumble. I dont know if anyone down there does it, but it would totally be worth looking into!
I guess I gave the wrong finger to the wrong man...
I was looking at the local landline company online yesterday and it looks like $30, but something like $40 maybe for unlimited long distance. I could have fun with that! I'm just so over cell phone companies. Maybe I should look into those pay as you go though just to have one for emergencies in the car or something?
Kids are at their dad's apt. today. He didn't want to do the driving this am to drop off the kids; D9 says she's bored at H's apt. (he's at work & running all day). She said she was willing to give up the track night tonight she likes to go with H, b/c she'd rather not do that. But H decided to take her to track night and said it was too much driving (10 minutes!) to drop them off this am. Karen
I had a BoostMobile phone (used it as a GPS tracking device in my wife's trunk, when she was having her affair), and I loved how easy it was to use and to load the minutes. There's no contract, the phone was like $40, and I could just buy more minutes with a card @ Walgreen's or CVS (and now I think you can just use your debit card to load more on online).
I'm at the point now where I can't pay the kids copays anymore; its down to paying food/rent or therapies. They are prob. about $400 a month right now. My L emailed me late this week that H's L said he can't help out with the copayments, even partial or half, as he's doing child support/alimony already. This is the email I'm planning on sending him with a cc to my L. I wanted to check with y'all first. I feel sick about having to do this.
Just to keep you informed, as you know I've been paying the copayments for the kids for the past 7 months, and I can no longer do so. I will be canceling the kids future therapies, including D9's weekly speech/ot. I will also be canceling S15's dentist appt next week if it is the standard $44 to $400 as I don't have the money to pay for them at this point. I still plan on trying to pay for Dr. X (D9's psych) and pay for D9's meds as long as I can do that. Please discuss with your attorney and/or mine if you have any questions. Does anyone have any comments or think this is ok to send? More worried about from a legal standpoint than a DB, but you guys are better than most Ls imho.
My L asked me about setting for temp hearing. I want to do so, but his financial affidavit he filed a year ago, he was paying the mortgage, homeowner's insurance, prop taxes, which he isn't paying now or the last 7/8 months. He also was paying 3 or 4 credit cards the minimums for those were probably at least a grand/month since he ran them up when he started the A.
I kept getting emails for several months from one of his cards (forwarded them to H immediately, but he didn't change my email so I kept getting them. On at least one of them, it looked like he didn't pay on it for 3 or 4 months before I finally stopped getting the emails. I think he's not paying on any of them maybe and going to file B. If that's the case, he has more $$$ than I do, and should be helping out on the copays. My L asked his L to file an updated financial affidavit, b/c if we go into hearing with his old one it looks like he's in more debt than I am. But I don't think that's true.
