My situation #10

[steady]

My W and kids are all sick again. My S and wife are on antibiotics and all three of them are on the nebulizer to clear their lungs. They were all sick last week so I guess it came back.

My W called me at work yesterday on their way to the grocery store to ask if I needed anything. I told her if she wanted I would do the food shopping later on since they were all sick. She said she wanted to drop off the prescriptions so they would do the shopping while they were there. Plus the kids needed to get out of the house. I told her I would pick up the prescriptions after work so they won't have to wait for them.

After work I picked up the medicine and went home. I played with my kids and then cooked dinner. After dinner my W gave the kids baths and I cleaned up downstairs.

We put the kids to bed with the usual routing - reading and singing to them. My W went into her room and I went into mine.

It's still calm and civil at the house. She actually pointed out some articles in the newspaper and asked if I had heard of the stories. We talked a little bit about them. We seem to be interacting a little more about non-logistical subjects. She even asked me about the sailing and my trip to my sisters for the 4th.

When they got home from their trip my W gave me a puzzle book that is like Sudoku with a twist. She said she saw it on the shelf and thought it might be something I liked. It kinda surprised me that she did this because it's been quite a while since she has. I thanked her for the book and did a few of them that night. Yesterday when we were outside with the kids I brought the book out and my W did a few of them.

I brought home some sparklers and some boxes of those things you throw on the ground and they pop for my kids. Monday the kids and I went outside and popped them all. They had so much fun throwing handfulls of them at a time. Then when it got darker my S asked if we could go outside and light the sparklers so the 4 of us went out and I lit them up. It's amazing how such small things are so exciting to children. My S was really happy that I brought that stuff home.

That's the update.

As for me. I'm moving along building a life for myself. I am working on some internal issues that I know need improvement so I have a pretty full plate of nice things to do and work on. This Saturday I'm planning to take the kids to a local airshow where they fly WWI vintage aircraft and do dogfights. I used to go there when I was a kid and I think my kids will really enjoy it.

I was originally going to take them to a Day With Thomas but it's a 2 hour drive and the weather is questionable for Sat so I changed the plans around. Last night my W asked if I was going to take them to the Thomas thing and I told her I changed the plans. She said she wanted to get a haircut and wasn't sure if I needed help getting them together for the trip. I told her to make her appointment for whenever she wanted and I'll have the kids.
