That's always how I thought about it - hated paying rent. Find yourself a good banker that seems to be even more important in these times!

Yeah, gonna call lenders on Monday. The realtor recommended two she works with frequently. I might also poke around at options through my credit union and I become eligible for my VA loan on August 22nd. Not that I'm counting or anything lol. Can't believe I've been in the military almost six years. Whew!

Going over to the parents today for a BBQ and fireworks. Then tomorrow I'm having breakfast with the in laws lol.

I would think you would get a good rate with a VA loan. I've always gotten loans from banks where other family members have (but that's coming from a small town).

The VA guarantees the loan to the bank. Which means I don't have to pay mortgage insurance. And it'll be a 30 year fixed. So, just gotta get moving on that once I am back working steadily! LOL.

Had a fun weekend. It was good to hang out with my folks, had fun setting off fireworks with my brother.

Then went to the in laws yesterday. Saw MIL, FIL, and SIL. Had lunch, hung out. They haven't talked to STBXH at all. MIL calls him every couple weeks, he never answers or calls her back. So sad.

So...talked to a lender. Meeting tomorrow. Since the D isn't finalized (hell, I have no proof it's even filed!) they want to run a credit check on him and get him to sign a quitclaim deed. I'm really worried his credit card debt is going to cause me problems cuz he had to do that consolidation thing after he went overdue on $9,000 in debt! Ugh. Oh well, going to the meeting anyways.

Oh! And I found out STBXH DID file the papers. On April 24th. So, D will be finalized October 24th.

Yes it does. It still makes me sad, but I'm resigned to it too. VERY VERY ironically....it's actually the anniversary of when RB and I went out the first time! LOL

As long as I don't buy until after the D is final, his credit doesn't affect me. But I'm looking now.
