Hope you get better very soon, Wii! Rest is the best where a virus like flu is concerned.

Rest is good, but I'm hoping that the $150 worth of drugs the doctor prescribed will do some good too. He says that the anti-biotic will kill any of the various possibilities...I'm just hoping it doesn't kill me! At least I got some codeine cough medicine out of it. Now, looking on the bright side, this illness has helped me lose the weight I wanted and I haven't drank coffee in over three weeks now. I'm gonna be the healthiest sick guy around grin This reminds me of all the weight a friend of mine lost a few years ago when his wife woke up one morning, told him their marriage was over and left...the poor bugger hadn't even got out of bed yet! We were thinking introducing it as the "Catastrophic Life Event Weight Loss Plan"...I think it could still be a winner!

Well, still fighting this damn virus! I met someone the other day who has had it for two months and a co-worker has had it for six weeks. Lots to look forward to!
I snuck out to prayer group tonight and it was my turn to present the scripture reading, I chose Romans 5:1-5 because it was a real help to me when W and I were separating. I mentioned this is why I chose these verses. Someone asked if she could pray for me and my family and a few members of the group came over and put their hands on me while this lady prayed an incredible prayer. She asked God to touch my wife's heart, to heal our family and bless our children as they deal with the heartache. She actually had tears coming down her cheek while she prayed for me. The Pastor prayed "the Lord is proud of you Whatis, you've done your best, you've been faithful...he's smiling at you right now" I was truly touched by this outpouring by people, I never expected this but it made me even more glad that I'd made the tough choice to change churches. Again, tonight I really didn't want to go, I was tired but it was my turn to select and read the scripture so I went. It's funny but often it's those kinds of moments that happen when we push ourselves and do something we might be tempted not to do.
Anyway, that's the news from the Whatis front. Forward Ho!

Whatis lives! I'm alive and typing...unfortunately there's nothing to type about. I'm on holidays this week and I started out with an exciting day of laundry and getting my hair cut...whooppee! Let the good times roll. My woman friend has the week off too so we're planning to take in a movie and go on a short day trip out of town. I'm still recovering from this friggin virus, it's worn me right out so I'm taking it easy this week so that I don't give it a chance for a comeback. That I do not need!!!! It's the worst bug I've ever had and with the mild weather we've been having it's virus-topia in this neck of the wood.
Later Dbers.

Hi Being Me. Awesome vacation? Well, I went to Port Perry for a day...what more could one ask for? I think I'm finally getting over the hump with this damn virus. It's been hard keeping the energy up but after a wicked weekend bout I think it may be lifting. Dr. says he's seeing the same people all summer with the same thing over and over again. Mild weather seems to be a virus wonderland...bring on the hot stuff! Anyway, last week STBX phoned and wanted us to take the kids to Great Wolf Lodge (yes, the one that costs $300 per night) for three nights. I mean it's one thing to hang out for a day but to spend three days with her, sleep in the same room and hang out like the family of old seems a little too much for me to handle (as did the $300 per day!). I declined. Now, she's talking about taking a three day trip to Montreal or Boston together with the kids...is she completely out of her friggin mind! She said she was going to check into prices and I didn't know what the hell to say, I was kind of stunned! So if and when it comes up again, I will tell her that I am just not comfortable with such an arrangement. I love my kids and my family but I can only handle so much and that's way over the edge for me. She wants to go away for a few days then go ahead and she can take her OP with her, it isn't my job to keep her entertained anymore. hey, I ran into OP yesterday when I stopped over a STBX's to pick something up for one of the kids, we had a lovely chat or at least I did, she was rather quiet. I wonder if the time I threatened to rip her heart out and shove it down her f'ing throat was still on her mind. My lawyer had said it wasn't the brightest thing I could have uttered under the circumstances but then it was a few years ago, it's all behind me...but I did kind of enjoy myself yesterday!
I hope all is well with you Being Me, I know you've been facing some real challenges and I greatly appreciate you taking the time to check in on me. God bless you and, as always, you remain in my prayers.

Ahhh...my fellow Canuck. I LOVE Port Perry! Such a pleasant small town. Great lakeside setting. Cute shops and even a dollhouse store! Heaven for moi!

Great Wolf Lodge is a blast but you can have 2 days of fun by just paying for one night. Check in and get those wrist bands early and stay late the next day. It is a lot of fun but not really costly for me since I live less than 10 minutes away.

I think your response to OP was understandable under the circumstances. It is in the past. It is good that you are both able to get past that.

Can't begin to understand why your ex wants to "play family". You are right to stay true to yourself and your feelings about it all. Never mind the cost.

SFO, if you think Port Perry is great, you should have been on the double decker bus tour of Unionville I took on Monday! That was 20 minutes of pure thrills! My kid was begging me "please Daddy, don't make us do this!" Hey, but for three bucks a piece WTH. It was Simcoe Day, ya gotta live it up! grin

Ummmm - I'm with your kid. I spent yesterday in Barrie which was not a bad thing. Today I have found the sun and that just makes my day. I'll stick to Muskoka for now. It is awesome and peaceful.

But cheers - here's to Simcoe Day!
