Dane Cook was freakin' hysterical!!!!!! We got upgraded to the club level so even better.

Funny thing in church this morning! We had a guest worship leader. He's been there a few times before and we absolutely love him! Today he was totally on fire. The last song he did during the service he put a whole Cold Play vibe into it. Then, as we were dismissed I heard the opening notes of another song and thought, "NO WAY! That is not what it sounds like!" Sure enough, it was.......Magnificent by U2! The title of my thread! U2 in church...go figure. I went back in to listen to him sing and he was FABULOUS! He could give Bono a run for his money.

Gabe called me about 5 minutes after he dropped Marc home tonight to ask me what time Marc had to be at school in the morning. I told him and expected that was the end of the convo but he then jumped into asking me how last night was, what time I got home, if there were warm up comedians, etc. Like an idiot I answered. Oh well......none of the answers were life shattering. I got home at 2:30am.....didn't tell him why though. smile Jill and I went to a couple of clubs in town to check things out after the show. It was WAY to crazy for us, but we did have a few drinks so had to hang out up there longer than we planned to sober up.

Love the U2 stuff! And sounds like you are having fun.

I love your "work hard, play harder" that's a great motto to live by, especially if you're an extrovert. smile Glad to see you are making it work!

I wish we had churches like that frown Orthodox churches are so traditional, we have no ghospel singing or preaching and talking after the service...

When I was younger I wanted to come back to life as a ghospel singer (black hot mama!!) and then have a career as back up singer to Aretha Franklin or someone like her (Anita Baker would do too but is more boring)... Who knows? Maybe I will get that wish in the future...

You'd be amazed how many of us church worship guys love the Coldplay/U2 vibe. Very cool! Do you remember the guy's name?

His name is Sam Tesh. He's so awesome. We have an email writing campaign going to try to convince the committee that we really need him. He fires us up and gets everyone so motivated to listen. Our pastor is not too shabby himself.

Two funny things happened at karate last night.

First - Marc was sparring with the lead instructor. He kept telling Marc to come after him hard. Harder. More combinations - etc.. Well, after a couple of minutes of this constant barage Marc put his hands up and said, "I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I guess I'm just not doing it tonight." The instructor stopped for a minute, looked at him with one of those typical teacher looks and started to say something and Marc let loose with, "PSYCH!" and came after him full force and ended up with him on his back. It was perfect! The instructor started laughing and told Marc that was one heck of a good street move but not such a great competition sparring move. They got a kick out of it anyway.

Second - Gabe called while we were at karate and the first thought that popped into my mind was that he was trying to cancel out on taking Marc to summer school tomorrow. As much as I wanted to ignore the call, I knew I couldn't. Nope, not cancelling on me. He sheepishly said, "How do you make that sauce for fish tacos?" Huh? He is calling me for recipes? WTF? I wanted to say something about him missing my cooking...nope. Didn't say it. I told him how to make it and Marc came out of the studio right then. Gabe told me to tell him that he said to wash his hair twice after having the headgear on. Yeah, whatever....I told him. Hung up and Marc's next question was what his dad wanted. I told him about the recipe and he said......"Gee mom, dad really misses your cooking! Miss Kelly only makes Hamburger Helper."

HA! CRACKS ME UP!
