Ughhh! So true. We live in a land of abundance. We should be happy as clams, right? However there's been studies showing the happiest populations aren't necessarily those with the highest incomes and standards of living.

In my own tiny universe, I feel happier than a few years ago despite the fact that things look worse on paper: ch13, possible divorce in the works, sold a bunch of assets, renting instead of owning, etc.

I don't know why. Something about accepting what I have is enough right now. It's just stuff and I can earn it back later. I still have kids, health, job, and my self worth. I have become stronger and more valuable to myself during this process.

There's still a long ways to go.
