I don't read your thread very often but perhaps you will understand this:

The parable of The Rescue (unofficial version).

Ch. 3

1. Now there once was a man in his house. A might storm arose in the land and threatened to engulf the man in his house.

2. The storm waters rose and the winds smite the house. The man waiteth at the window for the Lord to rescue him. A rescue boat arrived and the man in orange rescue garb shouted unto him. "Come with me. I am here to save you." 3. But the man replied, "No. I shall wait. The Lord will provide".

4. The storm waters rose and the man waiteth on the roof for the Lord to rescue him. A second rescue boat arrived and the man in orange rescue garb shouted unto him. "Come with me. I am here to save you. The storm is worse. We must go." 5. But again the man replied, "No. I shall wait. The Lord will provide."

6. Now the storm was in the darkest hour. The winds wailed and the waters pounded upon the house. The man climbed upon the chimney and held with all his might. 7. A rescue helicopter appeared through the darkness and through the loudspeaker a voice shouted unto him. "Come with us. We are here to save you. Grab the rope and climb aboard. This is your last chance and we will not come again." 8. Lastly the man replied, "No. I shall wait. The Lord will provide."

9. The man waketh in Heaven and before him stood St. Peter. The man asked, "Why am I here? I prayed for the Lord to provide and waited for him. Why did the Lord forsake me?" 10. St. Peter replied, "Why are you here, indeed? For the Lord hath sent two rescue boats and a helicopter to save you!"
