The world collapsing around the WAS is a good thing. However, having had the world collapse around my W 8 months ago, it doesn't necessarily mean he's about to have an epiphany. I don't mean to discourage you, rather try to keep expectations within reason. I don't think you sound unreasonably enthusiastic about the whole thing, but I just wanted to throw in what happened in my sitch.
I fully agree with making plans on your own, invite your H and let him join or not, but carry out your plan. This seems to have some effect on my W also.
