i would have to really examine if the goods are getting better than before. that would be the only thing that could guage this for you

The REALLY tough part of doing this is making sure that your definition of "better" isn't blinded by your "expectations".

Sometimes, even though things don't go exactly to our "plan", quite the way we want them to, there can be a "better" hidden in there.

SMALL changes leading their way on to bigger and better changes.

This is something that I often have to remind myself of, too!
