Thanks Mish, I am not so much a fitness queen as I wish I was...
I tend to go strong for a couple months and then get sidetracked. However that is on my list of things I want to change about myself. So we'll see how it goes! Also I am hoping it will encourage Nathan to practice more if he sees me practicing.

I'm sure he will. It can become quite competitive and then he can also feel like he can teach you some things since he's further along than you. That can build his confidence and make him work harder to stay ahead! smile Good job!

Hey Bobbi, good for you doing a martial art! Its grteat, I love it. I just got my yellow belt on Sunday and I was sooo pleased, more than I was to get my degree.

Sounds like you are pretty together and coping marvellously and I think its right to STOP trying to make his life ok, or easier and do what you want to do for yourself. He may be noticing a switch in you?

The kids want to make this for their Dad on Father's Day morning:

Breakfast Casserole
(Needs to be prepared the night before)

21/2 cups seasoned croutons
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 lbs of sausage (I use Jimmy Dean Original,
but any kind will work okay.)
4 eggs
3/4 teaspoon mustard
2 1/2 cups milk

1 can mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk

Place croutons in greased or sprayed 9 X13 pan, sprinkle cheese on top.
Fry and drain sausage and place on top of above.
Beat eggs, mustard, and 2 1/2 cups milk and pour over the
croutons, cheese, and sausage.
Cover with foil and place in refrigerator overnight.

In the morning, mix mushroom soup and 1/2 cup milk and pour
over top of casserole.

Bake 1 1/2 hour at 300 degrees.

The breakfast casserole we have been making for 'special occasions' since before Nathan was born...I never post recipes so I thought I would just for the fun of it...

I sent Dan an email on Wed. evening asking him if he was staying here Sun/Mon nights while I am at my work conference. Also asking him/telling him about weekend plans. My sis is coming tomorrow w/her kids, BIL is out of town for work. So we are all getting together with my mom/dad tomorrow afternoon and then grilling out supper for my dad's father's day.

So I told him Sat. was pretty full for us but kids wanted him over for breakfast before church. The rest of Sunday was up to him since it was 'his' day...I leave around 6 for my work conference on Sunday night and come back Tuesday night.

He never responded. Actually weird in that he called me Sun night to say he got there, left an ILY msg on machine Monday, left a How Are You Bobbi? msg on machine Tuesday (we were busy all week! smile )...then as soon as I communicate w/him he disappears.

Today he texts me "What are you doing". I replied that I was dropping kids at school so I could run errands. He called a bit later. Wanted to know what plan for weekend was (seriously?).....

He said he wanted to meet me at karate w/Nathan after work tonight and go to dinner after (w/kids of course). Then said if I didn't want to go to dinner w/them, I didn't have to, that was up to me...

I passed over that to ask about the rest of the weekend. He said Sat while I am with my family he would do his catch-up stuff. Then he said he had to make some phone calls to figure out what all he would do and we could talk tonight about Sunday. (God, please let one of the calls be to the pastor!) smile

I think it is a bad sign that actually talking to him bothered me...he is so "Laisse-faire" about everything. I think I used the right term! I mean, he was just like "Oh, what is up tonight? Karate? Want to meet up and then go have dinner? Oh, Saturday, yeah I could go play catch-up while you have the kids, they will want to play with their cousins...yeah, Sunday, let me make some calls and we will go from there..." Sigh...whatever pal!

Oh and I said in the call that other than church he could do whatever w/the kids Sunday since it was Father's Day. He said, "It's just another day, really.." I said well no, to the kids it is fathers day and they want to spend it with you. He just said, "Oh, okay!" and laughed like he didn't see why it mattered. Once church is over I intend to disappear and let him have them whole day with them.

Dan sounds like Gabe BBJ. "Just another day". It's their cop-out way of having anything to do with their kids when it's just not convenient for them. It stinks!

I hope you can let all Dan's crud roll off your back the way you have been managing.

Yeah Mish it is actually easier when he is thousands of miles away...being in the same room with him is more frustrating! wink So I guess I will smile and wave when we are and try to keep together time to a minimum.

I am checking out bike rentals for while I am at my conference. It is only Sunday-Tuesday but I will finish at 4 both days and have evenings to do what I want!
