I'm still in the first few weeks here, and trying to stay detached, so here's what I've got on my playlist:
A) "But, Honestly" - The Foo Fighters B) "One" - U2 (but I like the Mary J. Blige version because there's a lot more emotion) C) "So What" - Pink D) "Pork and Beans" - Weezer
A) This song really seems to hit home - starts slow and acoustic, singing about someone who is not acting like they should... The volume and drums escalate as he sings "And tonight I thank the stars/as I count my lucky scars/for everything you've given me/and all the words I gave to you/something borrowed, something blue/if you want them back I give it to you" and then he's shouting at the end "I don't want one thing that I gave to you"
Helped me to detach - Fine, you don't want me? Take it all back. I don't want it.
B) One love - we get to share it - it leaves you if you don't care for it... You act like you never had love, and you want me to go without...
C) Because I'm even more a rock star than I was when we were together . "I'm going to show you tonight, I'm alright, I'm just fine, and you're a tool!"
D) I'ma do the things that I wanna do, I ain't got a thing to prove to you... I ain't gonna wear the clothes that you like, I'm finally dandy with the me inside! One look in the mirror, and I'm tickled pink...
