I think the back is getting better. I'm making a point to walk daily. I'm somewhat stiff when I start from a day of sitting, and am loose by the end of the walk. The shooting pain down the buttocks is less frequent, and less intense. I don't grimace from it anymore. Sitting on soft surfaces is still a problem, but I can sit on hard surfaces for a longer period of time. I danced last night for two hours, without any problem. Movement seems to help. Whatever was on the nerve, seems to be shifting away from it. I see my chiropractor again this week.
