Perhaps a change of tack, a less open oppo to be encouraging. He just sent me this text
'Hi, quick update- spoke to solicitors at 5pm. No exchange yet. THey are still confident it's about to happen. I have said if there is nothing by tomorrow 11am then it's off and we will have to pick a new date, hope that's ok. Sorry for setting it up on your birthday first of all, I just didn't make the connection!'
Hmmm... what to reply?? Any help out there? he hasn't mentioned Friday lunchtime which is what I suggested in the email, should I just leave that for now?
I thought smething like
'That sounds perfect - they'll have to get their skates on! No worries about my birthday (option add - 'you can get me a huge present to make up for it'). I saw some of your guys out and about today, they were doing a great job. All your hard work last week paid off (Option - I had such an fantastic meeting today, I played it cool and then delivered a brilliant punch at the end, the Trustees were so impressed. Can't wait to tell you all about it)'
