Just been on vacation for a week, so just like AJ, reading through 2 pages of posts creates a clearer picture than when you check on a daily basis. It seems to me like H is coming around a bit. He did not run away when he caught you crying, he tried to make you feel better. Making jokes may not feel like the best way to you, but that's what he thought of and he made an effort. Especially considering he's a RUNNER as you said, it's a worthy effort from him. Also, planning for the future (houses and stuff) is not coming from someone who's thinking of bailing on you
I hear ya, Sam!!!
I've been checking your thread for updates.
How goes it with you????

D18 is NOT going to EIU in the Fall, as we just got her grades. Ugh! 2.0, and the deal was that she needed a 3.0 her Senior year in order for us to invest $20k per year in her education!
So, H will be home tomorrow night, and he thinks we should tell her together. I made an appointment for her at the local community college first thing Thursday am, and we're requiring her to figure this one out on her own. Four college visits, HOURS UPON HOURS of paperwork in applications, essays, etc., and she totally messed up. So, now I'm making her figure it out on her own (while being available for questions only...).
UGH!
But, this means she'll still be at home!!! She's already outgrowing the nest! OY!
Speaking of universities... I took my boys to work today. I had to go to University of Iowa. I told them if they went with (three hours each way!), and helped me load this instrument up that I had to pick up, we'd go to Kinnick Stadium.
Well, what an awesome day. We got to the stadium, and we kind of snuck in, through some construction... The boys were in SHOCK. It has 70,000+ seats! We looked around, and attempted to run the steps! Ha!
Well, then we went across the street to "The Recreation Building" which is really the exclusive "club" for the football team. Since it was summer, the secretary sweet talked one of the players and a coach into giving the boys and I a tour. WHAT an amazing building!!! HOLY COW!!! The first place we went was their HUGE weight room, behind, literally, 20 foot high gold and black doors, with a sign saying HAWKEYE FOOTBALL PLAYERS ONLY!!! Then, they took us into a hallway w/murals of all of the Hawkeyes that have drafted into the NFL. Next was the "Bubble" where they train indoors. S12 was telling them that he was switching to football for a school sport, since he only wants to play club soccer (not school), and that he is a kicker and punter/safety/receiver. Well, before you know it, he was racing their newly recruited freshman receiver. I thought he was going to cry he was so excited!
So, very fun! And, the players told him to keep practicing, but to slow down or he'll start to make them look bad. VERY cute boys.
We sent H a pic of the boys at the stadium w/a coach.
So cute!
We're back, and back to reality!

Keep it up MB. Your husband has his issues, but you need to give him the time to fix him. He's working on it. You're doing everything right from the sound of it and he's coming around. Hope you're journalling it to help you see what's working and what's not.
Keep going! I know it's hard, but keep positive too. It suits you

LOL MB!!!
My D17 does not even have her license yet--I refuse to put her on my insurance. She has killed 6 cell phones, three mp3s, and 3 digital cameras in the last 3 years. No way am I letting her in a car that I am legally responsible for!

I like your convo with D18! Just had a similar convo with a coworker that is struggling with a 16 yr old stepson who just ran his truck in the ground. "Well, this one's broke, but I found this other one I really like!! You guys are rich..." He's about to beat him UP!
I am about to update my thread. Got some goods and some bads...
