To break it down, I meant to first decide if you want your spouse or not. Then envision what that life looks like. Then all of the details sort of fall into place.
Until you know whether you want your spouse or not, it's going to be incredibly hard to make decisions about wearing wedding rings or even buying a new washing machine for that matter.
So, my advice to Orangedog is to continue wearing his ring and not think too much about that detail until he has spent more time thinking about whether he wants his marriage to work. If he wants his marriage to work, I would think that he might want to continue to wear his ring to keep that outcome as much of a reality as possible.
