Hmmmm..... you could go bake the fever out of him!

When was the last time your H took a day of leave/vacation?

Kalni,
I'm sorry that your S has a fever and that you may not be able to get away with H. I was so hoping that you could take a mini vacation together!

I'm curious as to the answer to Jeff's question...When was the last time H took a day off of work?

He has "days" allotted to him for his use. Is it difficult for him to take time away from that place for himself?

Again, curious to know the answer to that one, but I think I have a good idea as to what it is already.

Ugh, my son has tonsilitis with very high fever... We are spending the long weekend at home while the temp is rising and everybody will be out having fun at the beach...

Jeff and Rob, he is using his leave from his evening job when he travels with his morning job. I never bothered to explain how his evening work complicates everything apart from the long hours he is working. When he takes leave, he usually works at one of the jobs. He takes only approx one off week from both places. Also, since he is allowed to leave everytime the team travels, he is always "covering" for the people that cover for him during his trips. Long weekends, national holidays etc are usually "blocked". Besides he hates the traffic coming back from short excursions, he prefers to stay in Athens. (have I mentioned he doenst like concerts, theater, dancing... frown )

Holy cow K! Does he like any of the things you do? I ask this in all sincerity. Gabe didn't like most of the things I do either....no idea how we ended up together. I think it was because we both have a really sick sense of humor that other people don't get. smile

I'm so sorry your sweet boy is so sick. Lots of Tylenol, salt water gargles, and Gatorade.

Gatorade?

We used to go to eat out a lot, I really enjoy that, just talking and eating (my fav!!), movies, hanging out with friends...that's about it. Ohhh and traveling if/when he could get away (practically never the last few years).

Sorry, I thought Gatorade was nearly universal now. It's a sports drink that is full of electrolytes that the body looses during exercise or during illness (especially fevers).

Soooooo.....

He almost never takes a "real" vacation.

You've got an uphill battle on your hands, Maria. It's not obvious to me that the person he is at his core can give you what you need. I hated typing that....

Has he talked any more about giving up one of the jobs?

I had my tonsilectomy in 1965 just when Gatorade was invented and all I got to drink was 7-up.

It may be that there is an equivalent drink like Powerthirst in Greece. crazy
