When is the big departure day again? I've been to WDW and Disneyland too many times to count (ok, so grew up in SoCal and worked for the mouse for many years so lots of trips!) but I still get excited. My cousin and I grew up going to Disneyland at least twice a year. We always went together so the last time we went to CA together we made a point of going to Disneyland even though our trip was a whirlwind 2 days! We walked in through the archway (you know the one...the side of the flower Mickey) and as soon as we hit mainstreet we both started crying. The smell, the sounds, the sights hit us both and swept us back to our childhoods of spending the day running around the park, our parents meeting us every few hours to hand over money and make sure we hadn't permanently taken up residence on Tom Sawyer's Island and gone native! You can't pay money to create those memories and no place on this earth has invoked that kind of response from me ever! Make those memories with your kids BBJ. Create something special for them and forget what Dan wants to do. He is only along for the ride, this trip is about you and the kids only.
Love to you BBJ. Have a marvelous time and I am looking forward to seeing all of your pics in the alt!

Yes I realize I am going overboard on the preparations. However, I have done the Disney thing before (18 times in 9 months when we lived near Pasadena). And I know from experience I would rather have a lot planned and do half, then get on the plane thinking--where did the last 6 days go? We didn't do half of what we wanted...
I know when Nathan and I went almost 2 yrs ago, we had plenty of time to do it all in 4 days, but we didn't do Sea World or Epcot. Plus now you add in the Princess Factor with a 3 yr old girl coming, too.
Glad to amuse you, John! I got myself a bunch of new clothes so I was figuring out which tops to put with which bottoms. I know it doesn't really matter, just fun to try stuff on! And re. the kids clothes, I packed each top with its corresponding bottom. Just saves me a couple minutes each morning as I won't have to dig through the suitcase to find things.
MIKE, you are right. The dude is messed up. I still love him obv., but he does have major issues. Maybe you should send the pastor some 4x8s to smack him with...
Mike, I love your reality checks. You and John give me the no-bull view, I appreciate it.
Actually, our pastor won't swing literal lumber, but he is great at verbal smacks. Not in some nasty judgemental, hypocritical kind of way. But as I have said, he is a straight-talking southern Mississipi boy. He calls it as he sees it. He told me he had Dan pegged as "lost" from early in the game. And he said he would LOVE to talk to him about what's up.
Remember, pastor is the one who said to ME, "A guy who hasn't been intimate with you in 7 months has to have some outlet somehwere" (And I know that was debated on another thread. Let's not re-hash, my point is that he wasn't afraid to hit me with the truth as he saw it, so he will do same with Danno).
OK I need to get the kidlets off to day camp. Then hopefully I can get time for a pedicure, pack the carry-on, work out, mow the back yard, and get cash at the bank before I pick them up to take Nathan for allergy shots....hope I am not exhausted BEFORE the trip even starts!!
MISH--Hey girl! I have this visceral thing with Disney, too. Don't know why. As a girl I dreamed I would go to UCLA for college, just so I could get a job at Disneyland. Hadn't even been at the time...Every time we go, I cry the day we arrive (happy) and cry the day we leave (sad). I know a lot of people consider it a once-in-your-kids-life vacation experience, but if I had the money I could go once a year, easy...
DISNEY!! I LOVE Disney! DH and I went to Disney on our honeymoon and it was his first time going, my fourth or fifth. I took D6 when she was only seven months old. All of the girls have been at least once and I am planning a trip for next February. My college graduation is in Miami January 30th and I had promised the kids that when I finished my Bachelor's that I would take them. It will be so much fun! Your princess is going to really enjoy it!
Do not wer yourself out planning--enjoy yourselves! You and the kids have had a rough go for a while and deserve it. IF Dan doesn't like it, tell him to go to HardRock and have a drink and leave you alone!

BBJ, I am honoured to be in the no-bull section with our president Mike! I guess you could include your pastor in MY bullshit dept...from the other thread... :-)
ENJOY your kids and Disney and who knows maybe Dan will be enjoyable as well....i hope you have a wonderful time BBJ!!! That is no bullshit.
BBJ..I know you and a few more here hate when I post to you..but I'm gonna tell you..there's about 4-5 WAH's on here..I'd like to just thump..
and something tells me that nice preacher aint gonna swing lumber..
Isn't there some kind of commandment against that type of thing??
Mike--
We do not hate the posts, just the blunt reality you bring with them because we know you are right. As for preachers swinging wood--yes they will, they just do it in a much different way. Like BobbiJo's pastor, mine would also like to get ahold of DH for a few minutes alone. Rebuke and reproach is completely acceptable and biblical.

I don't know if I'm right or wrong..I know by looking at this website for as long as we have...can make things jump out at you...especailly if your sitch is done..
it all goes back to patterns..
this website has patterns...LBS's have patterns..WAS's have patterns..from my point of view the only way that i have seen so far that you can get a WAS thinking is by showing them you are prepared and ready to put "papers" in there hand....then they(some of them) seem to have second thoughts(except for the batchitt crazy ones..there's no cure for that)...you show them your ready to move forward without them in all aspects of your life...and that gets them thinking...
you really have to drop the rope..I mean really drop it..but that's JMO..just what i think..

Oh..I know that...southern preachers for sure..when I posted that..I meant I'd really like to thump em not mame em at all..just lightly thump them...see..what a few are doing IMO..borders on psycological abuse...mind games..they just do enough to keep them in the game..and it's hard for me to sit back and watch some people..who I consider friends..be abused..
anyway...have fun BBJ...Kim and I went to Epcot, Universal, Islands of Adventure, Sea World..City Walk in Orlando while we were trying to have Caleigh...then after Caleigh was born Kim went with her family and left me at home just pre-bomb...
Oh BBJ..one more thing and this is mean in a way..but oh well..Kim and I went to Emeril's restaurant in Orlando..it's just outside Universal/Islands of Adventurte park..it's called Tchoup Tchop(Chop Chop)..anyway..Kim and I went..the bill was $95 + tip...LOL and I only had one beer and Kim had a mixed drink..the food and service was awesome...anyway..I'm just thinking Dan owes you and the kids....
make a reservation...and put it on the itinerary..
LOL about the restaurant Mike! I was just thinking the same thing about the French Bistro in Epcot. DH an I went there on our honeymoon and dropped a few pennies there. The food was amazing, though, and you can take the kids.
As for the other, I am getting ready to post something to my thread that you may or may not agree with, but it feels right to me after several days of agonizing and praying over it. We will see what DH does with it when he hears.
