I felt somewhat guilty for sounding like all younger workers are like this...some are not, but where I work, most are.
I thought I better add that I work mostly with women..of all ages. And I've found that its somewhat akin to working in a snakepit. LOL Regardless of age, people can be gossipmongers.
I work with women 10-20 years older than me too, and you know...they can behave just like they were back in junior high! I learned early on to keep my business, my business. ( My separation and divorce happened after I had just started this job. ) If someone asks too private of a question, I play mute. If someone plays up to me (brown-nosing) I recognize it right away and ignore it. If someone acts like they're the only one you can trust with your thoughts..you know right away they are the last person you want to share anything with.
Plus some of the more elder crowd complains just as much and just as loud as the younger crowd.
Actually, I get a kick out of all these personalities because I know they can't get to me unless I let them..and I'll be darned if I'm going to let them get that far under my skin.
I hope BND that all of us will feel like we no longer have to defend anything in our lives. I believe we all know that the final judgement is what matters the most...not the judgement that people are so quick to pass on us in the here and now.
Women are angels. And when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly...on a broomstick. We are flexible
