And yes, your perception is your reality...but, what do you mean when you say you did not give her enough attention and affection. Might change how you should approach certain attitiudes during this separation...

I didn't listen to her when she talked, I interjected too much. She just wanted to talk and I had more important stuff to do that really wasn't that important. I didn't tell her I loved her enough, I didn't hug her or kiss her enough. I didn't buy her flowers just because. I didn't hold her hand or put my arm around her shoulder when we were sitting down somewhere. I could go on and on. I took her for granted a lot. I regret doing all these things so deeply now. Maybe if I had been a more affectionate husband this may not have happened.
