I've been doing some thinking about the things I was reading on Yahoo (OK, I'm in the helping profession so this kind of stuff fascinates me!). In my posts here I've been poking fun at some of the postings people do but, in all honesty, I really do admire people who are feeling lonely and are willing to do something about it. That is courageous to put yourself out there like that. It just kind of saddens me that I read so many things that will work against the poster in their search. The guys are especially sad, they seem to have absolutely no idea how to present themselves to women. I know we men like to know what needs to be done and then we'll do it but when we don't know the rules we whine like little school boys about how we don't wanna be here and don't know what to do. I can't believe that is in any way attractive to women out there reading these posts. I know in my only real woman "adventure" LOL Coffee Buddy wasn't hanging out with me and empathizing with me because I was whining and crying about my sitch, she was there because despite my sitch I was doing what was right, taking care of business and staying strong. She was attracted to the way I was handling a sitch that she felt was incredibly difficult. Guys also don't seem to know how to hook a woman in their postings. Most guys write like they're posting to other guys. "I like to stay home on weekends" really doesn't strike me as woman friendly. Many of the female ads like to talk about how active they are, not how they like to sit on their duffs all weekend. I noticed to that many women liked to write that they are "simple", especially Asian women. Is that because they know we aren't good at complicated. It appeals to the "Don't expect me to know what you want unless you tell me" aspect of men, I guess. And when women write "no head games" or "no game players" that's a real turn off! It says "I'm one wounded bitch and you're gonna pay big time if I think you're messing with me!" I'll pass. I've also noticed that women are much more wordy and romantic in their postings whereas the men are very concrete and thus rather boring! Hmm, it's all pretty fascinating to me. Anyway, I'm just sharing my impressions, take 'em or leave 'em \:\)
