Whip cream? You perv!
OK, Whatis actually checked out the Yahoo personals tonight. Somebody was talking about them somewhere and I decided to actually see what the heck they are. When I was dating I don't even think there were home computers yet. If anyone wanted to meet someone outside of the normal ways to fail they would post a personal ad in the newspaper. OK, enough of ancient history. Anyway, looking at these ads women post (haven't looked at the guys yet to see what they write) I was struck with this one thought "Do you ever want to get a date?" I would have to say it is a no no to post a picture that looks like your mug shot from the last time you got picked up DWI...that may be just me, I don't know. My favourite was the lady with the florescent face, that was kind of neat. Oh, and your only picture probably should not be one of you in full scuba gear. It is also preferable to write something that actually sounds like English...again, just me. Here was a good opener "Don't budge a book by it's cover" WTH does that mean? When a woman asks for someone who is "clean"...um, what would she be referring to? Hygiene, off drugs, no criminal record, no STD's...shoot for the stars baby! I also like when you find two postings of the same woman side by side but with different names. My favourite caption was "traditional hot momma lookin' for love" An A for creativity. I can't wait to see what the guys are posting...or maybe I can.
Hey, humour aside, I do admire the guts these ladies show by putting themselves out there so that idiots like me can "budge" their ads. I feel so mean...but then guys "just wanna have fun"! I got nothin' else to do tonight...and am damn proud of it!
JFTR (Just for the record, I made that acronym up! Like it?) I don't plan on contacting anyone...we'll see in six months or so. AT, weren't you into this Yahoo Personal thing?

Hey, this is addictive! here's more that I've collected tonight:

"I never got married in my lift" (elevator marriage, interesting)

"I know every Starbucks in the city" (what's not to love!)

"I am just a simple woman" (hey, don't be so full of yourself!)

"My moto is..." (wasn't he a Chinese detective?)

"Fun loving person who loves beaching" (I hope that isn't "bitching" spelled wrong)

"free sprite" (wow, she comes with a free soft drink too!)

"There is no man out there for me" (kind of grabs ya, doesn't it!)

"Please be good to me" (screams "abuse me")

I think I've found a new hobby! I think that may say more about me than the writers of the above

Yes,, I was Wii..jsyk.. and it was fun ! So long as you dont take it too CB like , if you know what I mean.. and YOU are ready to do that.. which you probably are and could.

Made some nice friends... also there is the POF thing ( Plenty of Fish) which is also interesting but free unlike the yahoo thingy .

Are the natives restless ?

I think whipped cream works in the HC btw..

Hey AT, I was just talking to my woman friend about my adventures tonight and she mentioned that on this POF site you mentioned the women tend to post pictures of themselves in low cut tops and skimpy outfits. I'm heading over there! I wonder if they can spell? But then again, who cares!!!!

She lied ?!

Yes.. I think there is a better "quality".. for lack of a better term.. of people on POF. Probably because they tend to hold local events and eventually you will end up meeting someone.. either in passing at the event.. or planned through the site. It is free though.. oh.. and they dont really allow alot of skimpyness as part of their rules..unlike yahoo.. so anyway.. just my take on it fwiw..

Uh, just to be clear, I'm not looking to meet anyone! I was just kind of interested in seeing what people do to meet other people and what they say. This little peek reminded me of doing job interviews when I wanted to reach across the table, grab an applicant by the shirt, shake him and say "Do you ever want to get a job? LISTEN TO YOURSELF!" In the case of online dating, it must be really tough to put your best foot forward with a couple of lines and a picture, that hopefully contains more than your shadow. I guess in one way it helps you realize that the well is never empty but, on the other hand...I dunno...the concept still kind of weirds me out a bit.I guess I really am old! But then it took me a year to come around to posting on the DB site...and look how badly that's gone... for the rest of you who have to read this thread! So, for now Whatis is gonna lay low and work on recuperating from the battle fatigue. I don't think I could hack anymore R crap right now. It's nice to have a little peace for a bit. \:\)
