...so he called. Sounded pretty down, or the convo was a bit awkward, I couldnt think if much funny to say and also, I am tired. But he was keen to get our house rerented and was supportive about college. So... good and bad. Bad first:
- He said he was going to buy a mower, or ask the Landlord to get one, as "the garden will need doing".. so, doesnt sound like he is planning to move out hey.
- We talked about my house and he was encouraging me to get some professional exterminators in and then he said sort of embarressed and offhand "well, its nonoe of my business really".. which threw me. I would NEVER say that to him if we had been discussing his Dads house. Our finances are so entwined.
- I may have found tenants for our house, but I was concerned as they want to redecorate and I coulndt help say "but what about brush marks?" (as I meant, if I, or we ever live there it would annoy me/us) he must've got what I meant as he said a bit embarressed "well, we can worry about that later..." and sort of trailed off.
Good was... - his housemate came in and asked him to come to the cinema and for a meal with him and his gf (I was worrying, is that a 4??) my ex wasnt keen, but this guy was persuading him and saying, why dont you come with us? So he must be concerned that my ex is quite down (he did sound it), so he agreed and then joked to me that he would be "a right gooseberry".. so Helen obviously is history. Wow.
- He invited me to band night !! He saidso are you coming to band night then? I was vague but he said he was definetly going, so I said I was planning too but I cant drink and said it would be nice to see you anyway.. he said, yes, you too, well that would be cool...we'll... have a chat. I said ok.
So.. does a mean A CHAT? Or just, a regular chit chat??? We'll see....
I'm a bit behind, but I think it's great news that he called, and also great that he invited you to band night. In relation to the mower, I wouldn't read anything into it- he may assume that he wouldn't be able to move back in with you immediately given the length of the S so far, or he may want to have a bit of time to himself to think about things etc etc. Also the none of his business comment could be a fishing comment- don't read anything into it for now.
I think band night could be very illuminating! Can't wait to hear how it goes.
Hey Lisa, thanks for saying dont pay much attention to what he said. Its all so confusing though. Well, I wonder if he will at least tell me tommorow that he isnt with her anymore? It IS good that he called me though, last Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday and then today.. thats 4 times in a week! Dont want to jinx it though.. I've been here before. And I've still never phoned him (twice since last August?).
I've run out of hot outfits! Although I did buy some new peep toe wedge shoes in black which look really cute on my size 3 feet..just no skirt/dress to match! But yes, roll on band night.
Hi Ali, how about not wearing anything new, maybe something you wore when you and he were together when you had a particularly happy time or a good night? might trigger a few happy memories for him and a fondness for the "good times"
Maybe he doesn't need "hot" right now, maybe he needs warm, caring and "comfortable" NOT suggesting cardigan and slippers just something not in his face you know? Good luck.
I agree with Lisa, don't worry too much about what he said. I don't think there is a whole lot of planning ahead going on in his head. He's got grass growing, and he needs a mower. He isn't thinking about whether he'll need it for a week, or a month, a summer, or forever.
As far was what he is going to tell you, don't expect much! He is probably still feeling himself out, and to some degree you as well. Not that you haven't been clear, but in his mind, who knows? Everything you have said and done has been filtered by his confusion filter, so what's clear to the normal person may be totally out of focus to him.
I really think you may find your patience really being tested in the next few months!
Jeff, naughty corner for you and while your there, think of ways to lift your mind out the gutter. You know how impressionable young girls are. Wear nothing in Cornwall in May? do you want poor Ali down with hypothermia. Gosh I hope she is still wearing her vest!
Yeah, we're starting to push 38 here too. Might be 40 on Sunday. I've had to start running my A/C since my apt is on the SW corner on the top floor and gets bloody hot otherwise.
