Mmmmm biscuits and gravy....my mouth is watering...
Happy Mother's Day"!!!!
Im still standin better than I ever did looking like a true survivor feeling like a little kid Im still standin after all this time and Im picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind..
Hahaha.. I took a look at the link and seriously Mish, thats about the most disgusting thing I have ever seen !!!! It looks like something my cat would upchuck Thats gotta be something you grew up on and I am sure tastes way yummier than in the vid. (meat in milk???? Thats just wrong !!!). Funny. Still, some parts of the world enjoy eating monkey brains, out of the open cooked skull, so you know, I could manage meat in milk over monkey brains.
Hope you had a nice mothers day.. at least you treated yourself to a fantastic breakfast! S*d the diet. Nice of Gabe to text you too, hey.
Do you not eat any kind of white gravy over there?
I don't know if the sausage is spiced the same way here as it is there. There are all sorts of different sausages, but this is a bulk pork sausage and has bunches of different spices in it. Couldn't begin to tell you.
We make scones here but scones are dryer than biscuits, especially buttermilk ones. Biscuits are very light and fluffy. Yes, absolutely WONDERFUL! Of course, there is no accounting for taste, right Ali? For heavens sakes, you eat MARMITE!

Hahaha.. I nearly put that in my post, yes but of course WE eat Marmite in the UK! Well some people do, me, especially (LOVE marmite! You tried it yet?). Hmm, well we do eat white sauces with meat (think theres one called bread sauce) but its not so much milk as a whole pan full, just some to go with the flour.
Oh Ali, I had forgotten about bread sauce but it's not quite like that mince concoction with the milk.I think of it more like a stuffing. Oh my! whilst I am screwing my face up at the thought of it, I just realised as a child I loved tripe and onions! Another aquired taste I think.
I best not say anymore, each to his or her own I guess.
Yummy biscuits and gravy. When I get down to AZ later this month I will have to have some. They serve it in Cali, but it's a southern specialty and they don't make it quite the same here.
My roommate made cheddar biscuits tonight with her dinner and I keep stealing them lol. She's a good sport.

Everything is an aquired taste. The gravy in the first video frankly wasn't as thick as I like it. The one in the episode from the Food Network where the wisk stands up in it is more my speed. Enough flour to make it nice and thick. The sausage also needs to stay in bigger pieces than the first guy had it.
All this biscuit talk would almost be making me hungry but I've been sick in the bed all day. Throwing up all night and day. I think I might have an ulcer. Is it any wonder? Can anyone say 'extreme stress'?
I really need someone to take some of this stress away.

Sorry you are sick. My son's kindergarten teacher left in the middle of the day with a stomach bug. Funny how he explained it to me, "Mrs. H came to school and then she found out she was sick"...
I pictured her at the front of the room, getting a note handed to her and reading it, then looking at the kids, "Oh, no. Apparently, I am sick. I have to go home now..."
Seriously though, I hope you are feeling better. And I didn't chime in on the biscuits and gravy, but I love them! If any of our UK friends haven't, I would suggest looking for some Paula Deen footage on the internet. She is all southern-style cooking, I don't know if she makes anything that doesn't require whole milk, cream, or a couple of sticks of butter... Yum!
Oh, and my little dude earned his next belt. In our program (American Tae Kwan Do Association) it is a cammo belt after yellow belt, then green belt. How is Marc coming along with his karate?
