Ppen... You'll love this one...

OUR LOVELY IL STATE POLICE, pulled me over today, and gave me, not one, not two, BUT THREE TICKETS!!!

I automate research labs in pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, government labs, universities, etc... Well, I was traveling from Rockford to Sycamore this am... in the middle of NOWHERE. Well, I hadn't been the back way down towards Dekalb/Sycamore since I graduated from NIU a "few" years back, and couldn't remember exactly where to turn to head south. Well, I looked down at my nav system to see how far away I was from a turn, and look up... an IL STATE COP had his lights on going the other direction, but passing me. I see him turn around in his rearview mirrow, and come straight at me, lights ablazin'! GOD! So, I pull over, and make a cute joke about how I couldn't have been speeding since I didn't know where I was and was on a Sunday drive... blahblahblah... He says, "Maaaaaam, PLEASE! MY LIFE JUST FLASHED BEFORE MY EYES!" I asked him what he was talking about. He said I had swerved over into the oncoming traffic lane in front of him, and then back over. TOTAL FREAKIN' BS!!!! I never moved my steering wheel, and I looked away for all of a half a second! He gave me a few other SARCASTIC comments, and (insert foot in mouth here) I told him, " YOU are f*cking insane! Here's my license. Write up my ticket, and let me get out of here. I'm done listening to your BS and LIES!" Gave him my license and insurance card.

HE MAKES ME WAIT 45 MINUTES while he sits in his car. Comes back, and says, here's your ticket for improper lane usage. Here's another ticket for an expired INSURANCE CARD (May 9th! UGH!), AND here's the best one! Another ticket for disrespecting a police officer! NICE! I just racked up $400 in tickets in one stop!

I told him I'll see him at the courthouse, and stop sweating profusely over my paperwork. I'll surely get the swine flu, dealing with a PIG! GOD!

Now, let me say this... I haven't had a ticket since I was 22. I drive a STATION WAGON. The improper lane ticket was all of $50! Who cares? Had I done it, I would have admitted it, probably had a chuckle, and moved on! But, I didn't!

Ok, I'm done. I'm letting it go now.

LOL

Journal Update:

See above post to Ppen!

I had my appointment today with the pulmonary doc, and worked out what I'll do for him. He's a brilliant do, with no clue how to cross the street, let alone launch a company, sell a product, etc...

Lucky for me, he's willing to pay, and has plenty of cash laying around... Lucky for him, I have time, and will accept the plenty of cash!

He left a message w/my friend who referred me to him. "Karla, she's perfect for this job! She's another "HIGH I" like us!"

>>>>>>>>>>> What's a HIGH I? <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

H called while I was in appointment w/doc. I called him later, and gave him his information re: paperwork he needed. Got quite a kick out of my ticket story. Told him I had to go, as my real job needed my attention!

He'll be home sometime tonight, and then it's the last PROM and PROM COURT for D17 tomorrow! And, Mother's Day on Sunday! Yea!

whoever had the love and respect link, it is so true. I mean we've known this for hundreds of years. It's been in the bible for goodness sake! Men love your wives, and wives respect your husbands! This definitely is a big big issue between spouses in our generation.

Mindblank, congrats on the job thing! I haven't had time to catch up on this thread, but I will. Happy Mothers day!

Yeah, how did your Mother's day turn out?

Your cop journal update was pretty funny! I guess I wouldn't have used the F word to the cop to make matters worse, but sounds like you had a right to be mad at him! Hope this doesn't turn out to be a major courtcase...

ST - H's such a sports nut, maybe I'll show him the verse in the Bible, and tell him to consider this his playbook!

Thanks for the congrats!!!

Happy Mother's Day to you, too!

I saw you had some great success with your team! And, the hubby was home and gone again. I feel ya' in dealing with them coming and going (for work). You get used to them being gone, then they're home. You get used to that, and they leave again!

Hi AJ;

Well, my Mother's Day was MUCH better than yours! I read your brief update. I'm so sorry. It made me cry.

We had a soccer game, then took my mom and dad to dinner. Got flowers and presents from the family.

Nice, all in all. We were all very tire. POST PROM was at our house, and the kids didn't leave until 11am on Mother's Day.

Happy to report though. No riff raff with over 40 of them here overnight!

Update?

PROM #3 done!

D17 was NOT PROM QUEEN!! \:\( She could have cared less! Hilarious! This, obviously, was her school's prom. It was so fun. H and I sent the little boys away so we could handle pics w/D17, go to their prom "Senior Walk," and see the coronation. Wish I could post the pic of D17 on Senior Walk. Everyone cheered because she and her date are quite outgoing and funny, and darling! I have a pic that sums everything about D17 in one moment! Doing the parade wave, with this naughty grin on her face... Hilarious! After that we went to dinner w/friends, and had them come help us with post prom at our house. Really fun.

Mother's Day.... See above post to AJ.

Today, H was home until almost mid-afternoon. He had paperwork to do this am, after the kids went to school. I made us lunch, and we had that fairly early, as I thought he was leaving by noon. Well, he was in and out of my office several times, kind of prolonging leaving... I think he may be tiring of this travel schedule, as it gets harder for him every time he leaves.

Talked to him once after that, as he wanted me to call him w/the results of S12's Junior High schedule meeting w/his counselor. He seemed proud of S12's academics.

I feel like I need to work more on Mike's suggestions of being SO happy around him that he thinks somethings up... I am ALWAYS pleasant, but I feel boring. I feel predictable.

I'm shaking it up a bit. Just not sure how.

PS - And I feel like a fat whale. Too much food over the weekend. (Back to power walking in the am!)

GAL..I'm telling ya..GAL is the key..

ya need to find an activity that you love to do...just for you...and you can do every single day and make time to do it..it will give you confidence above and beyond...it will put a smile on your face that won't be fake and it will make people notice you..I exercised...did an ab/core routine 3 times per week and rode a recumbent bike 2-3 days a week...I lost 32 pounds....

no disrespect but i think we are all quite boring once we marry..we get comfortable,,we get in a routine and before you know it you find yourself on some web site talking to strangers because your M sucks.. been there, done that, twice....still waiting for a frinkin T shirt...
