I just got back from meeting h. He did the usual thing of leaving it late to tell me when and where but I wasn't stressed about it.
I arrived early at the restaurant so got a table and read my book. When he came in he greeted me with a real genuine smile, not the usual guilty half look like he used to have. We got some drinks and said toasted his new job. He then spent ages talking about it and I listened and made some good observations. He seemed to really like talking about it with me.
Then we got onto talking about my work idea and this really stimulated the conversation. He got really into it, which I knew he would, and gave me some really good ideas and suggestions. He is always really good like this and that is how we used to bond by bouncing ideas of each other and showing enthusiasm and supporting each other.
We talked about it for ages and I could see he was really impressed with the idea and me. When we talked before about his job he started explaining a few things a bit too much and I was slightly wondering if he thought I was thick, then I realised that it was probably the level he was used to speaking at (sorry, that sounds bitchy but I don't think ow is amazingly bright).
At 2 points his phone rang. The first time he said 'oh that's work, they can get lost I'm not at work anymore'. A MAJOR difference to pre and post bomb! That was my biggest grievance that he used to prioritise work over me. Then the second time I think it might have been ow by his face. Then he screwed up his face and cut it off, a few mins later he said 'oh, I should check that' and sent a text. Who knows if it was ow or not but at least I seem to have his attention now when he is with me.
We signed the contracts for the house. And he said' I suppose that is it'. I think as in that is the house gone. I didn't really know what to say to that so I kept quiet.
Lastly, before we went our separate ways I went to give him a hug (a 180 for me) and he hugged me and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I think it was unintentional but quite funny. Can you imagine him giving me a kiss a few months ago?
He came in to the restaurant quite down and left in a really good mood. He is so lovely! So onwards and upwards. Let's see what happens next!
P.S - I have a date next week (not with him!), I'm being taken to Gordon Ramsey's restaurant - exciting!
