Because you live in an area where the average income is 3 times what you make, and the cost of living is 3 times what you can afford silly. Plus, you are too hard-working and have a second job. If you didn't have that job, bet you'd qualify under the household of 3 standard! Huh?

I know you don't want to move because of Marc's school, but if you move someplace cheaper, maybe you could ditch that job or at least make ends meet???
