So it took you over a year to date? How did you meet. That is another worry I have. How in the world do you meet people. I refuse to meet someone in a bar. Not my type of meeting place.
Does that really work? lol sorry I never in a million years would have dreamed of looking for someone on the internet. BUT this day and time its THE THING TO DO. Once my xh asked me something like, "are you looking for your dates on the internet?" while laughing and making fun of me. I wasnt at the time, but he did plant an idea.
Renee, I suspect that your exH says he wants to pretend you don't exist because he knows his behavior is atrocious and its easier to ease his conscience if he could pretend you and all your years together didn't exist. Its a mind game for himself. Probably more to help himself rather than hurt you-but who knows...?
From all you've read here about not believing everything a MLCer says-why do you choose to believe that one statement? Blow it off-just because someone says they want to rewrite the past it doesn't mean they can. Humans, as far as I know, don't have the ability to erase specific parts of their memory. He remembers, it probably hurts to realize how he has treated you, he's not going to apologize to clear his conscience as he has moved on..its just words! Nothing more.
