Wow.. so my arm and ear are aching.. we were on the phone for an hour and 40 minutes!!! Thats a record ! He twice said, see you Thursday.. he didnt so much invite me as said, I suppose you will be going.. suppose I will see you there? But then the people on the leaving do are coming along to bandnight!
He sounded pretty down for much of the convo, but perked up and laughed a bit for the last third. He yawned alot and his energy was pretty down beat.. but I made sure to ask questions and show interest in things he is doing (as alot of this friends are the kind of chatty, outgoing people that are "on transmit, not receive".)
We had a really nice varied chat. He is bringing his ipod for me to borrow for my sculpture so thats great and I got his advice on how to drill a hole in glass and he seemed keen to help. But, sometimes he says things and I can hear its like excuses he may use to her, hard to explain but he has become 'practised' in avoiding meetings/trouble with her I think and eventhough its subtle, I pick up on it. Not sure how I feel about it really, he sounds a little strange to me nowadays. But then, its always harder on the phone.
I told him our tenants gave notice on our 'marital' house back home and he said he was VERY relieved when I said I could advertise it tommorow and we should be able to relet it quickly, he said "Oh I hope so, I really hope so, that would be brilliant"... so.. um..bearing in mind we've been split up 18 months (?) and its in joint names, he still doesnt seem to want to sell and split those assets!!?? Good!
