S12 has a Jr. High Track Meet on Saturday. He's a fantastic runner, and doesn't even really have to train (but he does), as he's a club soccer player who plays center mid-field, and runs non-stop 4-5 days per week. S12 could only compete in a few events, since we had to get him to a State Cup soccer game, but in the 800, he ran a 2:38! Sheesh! There were 15 kids in his heat, and he won by a solid 25 seconds! No one else was even around the turn... And, he said he wasn't really running his fastest... But, get this, he missed qualifying for state by ONE SECOND!!!! And, the state qualifying times are for all Jr. High students, so through 8th grade, and S12's a 6th grader! Gosh!
Then he ran the 1600, and ran it in 5:21. The kid can fly.
We were so proud!
At the first lap, he was so far ahead, and one of the Dad's from a competing team (that we know) yelled down to us, "Hey, do you think S12 could pick up the pace a little bit?" Ha!
And, then to have D17 look so awesome for prom, and NOT get into any trouble! Good day! Poor S9, had to put up with all of this all day! I asked him if he enjoyed his day. S9 replied, "Mom, it was a piece of crap!" God! Don't ya love it? Sibling love!
