Twice day and tomorrow at 3 and then 5 more times next week (Thursday through Sunday.) We have a rehearsal Wed., but are supposed to get Monday and Tues. off so I'm psyched, so I can do my walking job and get a start on packing.
Ok, yucky day today!!! Last night after the play at midnight or 12:30, I packed up D9's bag for today at the amusement park. They had a list of stuff and I packed it all: swimsuit, water shoes, towel, etc. They didn't list suntan lotion and I didn't think of it prob. b/c I was exhausted.
They kept the kids a few hours late today so dropped D9 off at the theatre which was nice. I called H and told him they were running late but nice enough to drop off D9 b/c it was after the play started. He acted really busy like he didn't want to take my call, and then he was all why can't they drop her off at the house b/c I guess he didn't want to go to the theatre for some reason. I said well just have S15 come in and get her, he's worked there so can do that, and he said he would. Then D9 got there about the same time S15 did (H apparently pulled in an alleyway behind the theatre???). She was bright red horribly burnt. I said why didn't you put on lotion and she said I hadn't packed any. So none of the other girl scouts or the two leaders would lend her any??? Keep in mind these are the girls that I volunteer with every Tuesday at the afterschool program so I'm always helping out when I can too...I feel so sorry for the poor babe; she's gotta be hurting, and I know it was partially my fault!
So I knew H was going to be sending me an email and he didn't disappoint. I get home to find this: i am very upset. neither you nor the chaperone's put any suntan lotion on D9 for a sever hour water park trip! she is very burned. no boils yet... i don't get it. i don't want her on a trip with them unless one of us goes. So I was going to email back this. What do you think?
I was horrified too. I was surprised they let a 9 year old go without suntan lotion at a amusement & water park. I will say something to them about that, and I think that would be a good idea for one of us to go along.
Their trips are on Saturdays and I'm usually working or today was in the play (at 2 and 8), but I think that would be a wonderful idea if you went with them and supervised--Jamie would love it too!!! Karen
