Act as if -- call her up and tell what is going on at work, get off the phone first, just say something just happened I wanted to share with you ..........

Analogy that helped me - We have different rooms in our "house" and our Ws need to be in all of them. Rooms - work, family, hobbies, dreams/goals, struggles, etc. So let her see into all of your rooms. Then she will want to be in the rooms you want her to be in. Make the changes for yourself.

I have been avoiding calling her etc as part of "Stop the Pursuit"

I could change that and start the conversation.

I also admit that I normally try to start the conversations by asking her about things she is interested in, rather then telling her about me.
