Anyway, I'm for doing all that you can to save the marriage. To not try because a large percentage doesn't make it, doesn't make sense to me. I don't think that is what you were saying, though. Everyone has their own story, their own circumstances, their own method of "trying", and their own breaking point. Only they know what it is.
