Had a little afternond delight yesterday (lunch)...picked up D8 later and for the frist time in ages I slept in the same bed as her. Just woke up and cuddled.... We (D8 and I) are scheduled to go see GF's horse...hang around at the stables. D8 is excited..she loves animals. GF will be presented as a friend. D8 asked if we like each other and I simply sadi that we are getting to know each other. It is not a good idea to jump in and out of relationships quickly. It was not a shot at her mom .... just want to instill some sort of guideline for her. Speaking of which, stepdaughter who lives out west called me out of the blue to chat. Inevitably he mom came up in the conversation. SD still holds a grudge...more than me. She admitted that it was one of the reasons that she moved away. Sometimes we do not know the effect that we have on people. She sounded torn between the love for her mom and coping with her actions. Anyhow, I changed the subject and spoke about her life. She seems to be doing well.
