I take it you meant blooming lovely Northerners! Only been to Newcastle once but had a great day, some great shops. I love Geordies although can only understand 1 word in 10, but they are so funny and they know how to celebrate New Year, which in my book is a big plus.
They are penny pinching at W works cos of the recession, they are changing her hours to reflect the time she can get to work. At the outset she let them know she could only get to work at 8.15 instead of 8.00am cos she has to drop D7 off at breakfast club before school. Also they won't pay her car mileage from home to the site she's based at, they will only pay when she drives from site to site. They didn't make this clear in the beginning and now nearly two years into the job they are questioning it. Anyway I told just to get into work and keep her head down.
My works has just announce job cuts, we're gonna lose 60 out of 230 people, I think I'm safe but for those who manage to keep their jobs they will face a 15 - 20% pay cut based on reduced working hours. So this year is gonna be really tough.
FIL has just started his chemo, the cancer is slow growing so the docs are hoping 6 months of chemo will clear it up. W and I are taking him and MIL to the lakes district Easter Monday to cheer him up. So I'm looking forward to a nice weekend break.
" I WANDERED lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."
It,s hard to beat the Lake District when the sun shines- a rarity from my visits but looks like the sun shone on the righteous for Lan.
All lush and green. we took a short walk by the side of Ullswater W,MIL,FIL & D7 are not very good walkers so we didn't go far. Then we drove into ambleside for Tea and cakes.
All quiet on the home front not much to report. Training for my 10k run next month not going well, I need to get off my ass and get running. It's 4 weeks off so I need to run now every day to get myself prepared. A lot of my outside distractions have gone but mentally I keep giving in to various little niggles. So I need to dig deep and find the motivation I had last year.
