I miss him, too, John. I miss everyone, but just cannot bring myself to spend a ton of time here right now. I have a lot to do and have fallen far behind on a lot of situations. Maybe I am getting too self-involved or I have finally detached enough to focus my attentions somewhere other than my situation. Hopefully I will not implode when my DH comes home from deployment.

I am guessing you and W are totally done now, since you have started dating someone else. How is D8 adapting to everything?

Are you the artist formerly known as SML???
D8 is doing great...her school grades have not suffered at all and the comments from her teachers were excellent. I have to hand it to her mom, she has done a good job. I have no intention of introducing anyone (as my new girlfriend) to D8 until i am certain that the person i introduce will be in my life for a while.
As far as ex W goes, we are done. Sure there are feelings...that linger. How can they totally be erased? But they are almost non existant. Picking up D8 this weekend at the house...seeing my old dog....picking up some old stuff....it hardly affected me.....so i guess i am detached. Comes a time when you have to realize that the person we were in love with is no longer that same person....comes a time when you need to realize that certain actions are not easy to get over. So, some folks prefer to hang around and hope that things turn around while others move on and don't look back......whatever works best for you. Neither situation is easy but in my case, i tried to look at the cold hard facts and they all pointed in one direction. Honestly if my ex wife would call me in the next five minutes and tell me she wanted to give it another go, it would not change anything....I know what the answer "should be"....I know that I deserve a much "better" person than who she has become.

We should all make the most of the time we have left......

I spent the weekend playing soccer, baseball and ball hockey with D8. She absolutelly loves to play with the old man! She told me on the drive to the dropoff that she had alot of fun with me this weekend. I need to do more of that with her as the weatjer gets progressively warmer. We even snuck in a movie and a hockey game on tv this weekend.
My lady friend has already invited me to see her horse....I told her the only horse I like is one i can bet on! Speaking of which, the first Saturday in may (Kentucky Derby) is around the corner. I will take D8 with me to spend an afternoon soon. Tell D8 she is one of her old man's friends.
