Yeah, apparently it is typical (and certainly from my observations) for the behavior of the WAS to be so erratic that they make decisions differently than prior to the 'bomb'. This may include making a lot of mistakes, forgetting things, easily distracted, projecting their own guilt as fault onto others around them (usually the LBS), and assuming that nothing they are doing is wrong and that they are so clever to be getting away with manipulation, retaliation, EA/PA, et cetera.

The 'fog' is commonly observed by LBS as "I don't know who this person is anymore." It does appear to be temporary (e.g. one year). I've heard others liken it to a chemical imbalance, or addiction ---- which, by the way, not one of the LBS could ever recommend treatment for --- if there were such an official diagnosis and treatment.

The residual affect of the fog over 1 to 2 years, however, is that the WAS is not the same person anymore - which is why we can't go BACK to the marriage we knew, but (potentially) start an entire new relationship after all the dust settles.
