See boys, Tawnya agrees with me. Although I do like that Steve Martin line ;\)

Talking to my BFF today and decided that I will give xBF a week to respond to my letter. If I don't hear anything from him by Saturday I will move forward under the assumption that he is not ready, willing or able to be the man I want. I'm fine with that being the final word. I just can't put my life on hold anymore.

Off to dance classes - yay for Tuesday!

Yay for YOU!

I think that's a great plan... I can understand wanting to be patient, etc, but sheesh.

So do you have any more that would work? \:\) Like Puppy said, slow down, I don't check on here in a day and I miss all the good stuff!

Back to you: So, you didn't hear ANYTHING from xBF so far on your letter? It seems like a while, but maybe time just goes slow these days...

I thought you guys weren't interested in dating, and now you want pick up lines? \:\) Honestly, with me, I just like someone friendly who seems interested in getting to know me. Not too pushy, not sleezy. And as for topics for conversation, usually the situation lends itself to something: the game I'm watching at the sports bar, the band I'm watching at a concert, where you're going on an airplane, etc. Helpful?

Got an email from xBF just now asking about any bills due this month. That's it. No word on the letter, no asking to get together, no revised settlement document.

I'm sure he's trying to do the same thing I did when I didn't respond to his emails/letters right away. That's fine. But the clock is ticking and I'm not going to put my life on hold for him much longer.

Very helpful! Thanks for that pearl! ;\) I sincerely hope I won't be needing any pickup lines in the future, but it's good to know!

The difference with you is that you did not respond at all before answering his questions. You acted like you're too busy GALing and not thinking about him. He's sending you an email about some other stuff, so he's thinking about THAT! Yet he still ignores the letter you gave him (on Sunday, right?) when you ASKED him to let you know what he thought. He could at least tell you he's still trying to figure out what HE wants out of a R to see if that matches with what you would want.

I guess the question is do I tell him that? Part of me feels like I owe him the same time and space he gave me. Part of me feels like if I know I have a deadline I should tell him. Part of me thinks that he needs to get his ass off the fence.

I never like to convey deadlines, whether it's to BFs/GFs/Hs/Ws, or terrorists. Because the problem is, they will inevitably do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING until the 23rd hour, and then they will PROMISE YOU THE MOON AND THE STARS to stay the Executioner.

And then what have ya really got? Commitment, or just compliance??
