MC and davidswife are right, you'd score major points with a woman if you got her a fab pair of shoes or handbag. The trick is that you have to know her style.
AND her SIZE! I know my W's size, but every brand and style shoe fits different and that makes it hard to buy shoes as a gift. I've bought my W shoes on many occasions, and she likes the styles I pick out for her, but I always have her there to try them on for fit. Especially since I tend to pick the higher heels, where the proper fit is more important.
As for jewelry, that is easier to do on my own, since size is not as important for some items. I've bought my W several bracelets (which are easy to adjust), earrings and necklaces (no size issues there).
Tawnya...you can drive to Atlanta...it's like 4 hours, right? You've driven farther than that before!!
And, pearl, Tawnya would totally let us shop. She actually shopped with me for hours...she was very good at helping me spend my money!
Sam, that's cool that you shopped for/with your wife. Why would any woman not want to hang on to that? I'll have to read your thread!
Hope everyone's having a good day. I'm doing well...just interviewed a guy for an open position here. He got sick while he was here. I would have hated to have been him!!! He was a nice kid, and now he's traumatized. So, that leads to the next distracting conversation topic...fitting since pearl is job hunting...What's the worst thing that ever happened to you in an interview?
I can't think right off the bat about my own worst experience...but, I will think on it and post here about it later!
((((pearl))))!
Hope you are doing well today!

Ok {{{Amy}}} LOL..love you speaking for me now..maybe I wouldn't let you shop LOLOL
ACTUALLY {{{Pearl}}} YOU and Amy can totally shop for shoes until your heart's content...I just DON"T want to shop for shoes with you..I will take that time and go to the cool Coca-Cola museum or something besides that
I think Atlanta is further than 4 hours..but I will have to check. Tho, I'm all about flying and being there THIS QUICK..LOL..patience is NOT my virtue!
{{Sam}} OK..you totally get props for even CONSIDERING buying your wife shoes..since even I would never buy shoes for myself without trying them on LOLOL
Amy..not worst interview experience, but, I'll never forget my first day at a new job at a bank on base in Japan. We had these keys for our money drawers, I went to the bathroom, set it on the back of the toilet, flushed the toilet, reached for the keys, dropped them and away they went down the toilet..THAT was a great first day! I was mortified..but they all just laughed..THANKFULLY

Beats me! Very good question! And I appreciate anyone taking the time to read up on my sitch!

Just popping in to say that you are still in my thoughts...I played that famous vid by 'rockstar' last night and told my friend that you had seen him 3 nights in a row in Vegas...talk about jealous!!!!
Please please please do NOT tell any interview horror stories here! I am freaked out enough by the process, if you all start in I will surely freeze up and never get a job!
I am out of town for the weekend so will only be here sporadically until Monday.
Sam, I honestly wouldn't know what to do with a man who picked out shoes for me. It's such a foreign concept! Good for you buying her jewelry. I agree with Amy, I don't know why she wouldn't want to be with you!
Tawnya, according to Google maps it's a 5 hour drive for you to Atlanta...promise Amy and I wouldn't shop the whole time. I'd like to see the Coca-cola stuff too! Oh, and there's that other thing going on...
Amy, I will probably be broke by that point anyway so I may be done shopping for a while! But it would be a fun weekend.
Silva, thanks for popping by! I know you're busy having fun in RL. Tell your friend that rock star is even better in person Still planning to move to SF, but job hunting has been on the back burner with all the crap going on with xBF. I feel like I need to get my act together but everyone else is saying take my time. But will focus more on job when I'm back home because I really want to move.
If you love somebody, set them free. http://tinyurl.com/2empx2g

Amy, Tawnya, pearl: Thank you very much! Just realized coming in to work this morning how I feel pretty darn good! You three saying this gave me a HUGE PMA boost! Makes me realize there are women out there that appreciate that kind of stuff and that I'll be able to meet someone new that fits me well, even if things don't turn out with my W. In all fairness, I think my W does appreciate it, but doesn't think of letting me know? I think that has been a problem between us: not letting each other know we appreciate each other and that went on until we both stopped doing the things that we appreciated from each other... I have turned that around on my end and I am starting to see expression of appreciation from my W, so I still keep having good hope for our sitch.
Back to YOUR sitch pearl: I would let your job hunting steer you as far as moving is concerned. Look for jobs in both CO and SF. Suppose you found a GREAT job in SF, then move there for it. If you found the PERFECT job for you in CO, don't you think you could be happy there? I wouldn't move just for the sake of moving, JMHO.
{{{{{Pearl}}}} OOH..bad friend that I am..I totally should have thought about that interview stories thing..glad no one posted anything except my crazy 1st day story LOLOL HOPE you are having fun girl
{{Sam}} Aww yeah..glad we could help boost your PMA and yes women definitely appreciate that! IT is true that sometimes people don't and/or don't know how to show that they appreciate something OR think your spouse should just KNOW that you appreciate it..I guess it's definitely something to think on for next time, either with your W or down the road?!

For me, bad interview stories would have been encouraging...espeically if they were really bad! Cause then I could have said, "Hmmmm can't get any worse than what happened to so and so." That would have given me confidence...something about knowing the worst is not as bad as you anticipated, you know?!!! But, since you don't want them, I won't share mine!
Hope you enjoy the trip...and I'm with Sam...don't move for the sake of moving. I considered it briefly the other night, but decided that was like running away from the issues. Now, if the perfect job is there or you have great friends there, etc., etc., etc., then I say go for it!
Love to you! Amy
