Thanks guys.... nope, I'm no Angel...just trying to do whatever feels right...(yes Naej, I think sometimes things happen without us giving it even that much thought... weird after years of analyzing !! ) Anyway, still thanks for your compliment Whitelight... it was too kind !
True, I'm chickening out of the 'date' - like you, I'm not very sure if it's possible to find the right one... and I don't want to actively look for him !!! So, for now, I'm still enjoying my own life and that with the kids and to be very honest I find myself very very happy most of the time !
Thanks for your input guys (everyone !) as it is always good to see things from different perspectives !
Take care !!! xxx

You certainly don't have to justify your actions on this board.
Each of us knows what is right in our own situations.
What is good for one may not be good for another.
I would have done exactly what you did.
My youngest gets very nervous when I am with OW, because she knows OW does not like me.
I don't wish to put her through that.
Me: 46 H:44 Together: 25 years Married: 20 years Separated: 11-30-06 Divorced 12-21-07 OW: EA began 2005 PA began end of 2006 3 children,20, 16, 6 ex asked for forgiveness 01/16/11
Trusting... thank you so much for that.. yes sometimes things just happen the way they do...
Well, 2 of my kids have lice !!! AAAAAAAAAAARGH !!! I have been treating everybody's hair, and have taken ALL the bedding off, towels, put all their stuffed toys away in tightly closed off plastic bags !!!
D10 and I don't have them... thank GOD !!!!
There are 5 bags of washing waiting to be done !!! YUK !
I truly hope I will be rid of them after all of this !!!
Any great advice ?? I would be ever so thankful !

Lice...how frustrating. I had to deal with that when my kids were little. Apparently, during the winter, they would throw all the kids coats together and when the alert came out that a kid had it, we couldnt take any chances. Even though I never got them and neither did my wife, we had imaginary itching for weeks.
How are you Cinders?

Mayonaise!! It suffocates them and makes it easy to get the nits out because the hair is so greasy that they can't stick.
HAHAHAHAHAHA !!!! LOL !!! So olive oil would work too?? Great suggestion !!
MMF - thanks !!! I'm doing really well thanks ! Blew my date off, and have decided it's too early to start dating...that day may one day come, but now is too soon. And I'm having far too much fun by myself right now !!
Weird, I never thought I'd feel this happy, but I do.
Thanks guys !! xxx

Just noticed this question. I'm a school nurse--I know way more about lice than any human being should!
Olive oil works fairly well. Leave it on for a couple of hours, wash out with several shampoos. You might want to repeat it weekly while the outbreak is going on.
For nits--here's a great school nurse trick. Slightly diluted fabric softener on hair, cover with a plastic shower cap for half an hour, rinse out. It unglues the nits.
Whatever you do, don't use petroleum products--vaseline, baby oil, mineral oil. And obviously, no gasoline or kerosene either (I only mention this because people actually use these!) It takes forever to get non-vegetable-based oils out of hair. And they're no more effective. Be sure to vacuum carpets and mattresses well, along with what you're already doing.

Cinders advice might be different where you are but current advice here is to only treat the heads of those individuals who have proven lice or nits (the eggs). This is because the lice can (and do) become resistant to the treatment and so eventually it doesn't work anyway. It is really important that you check everyone's heads regularly though (including getting someone to check yours)
I currently manage a head lice scheme in 90 community pharmacies (if they can prove there are definately lice by bringing at least one in per individual who needs treating on a piece of sellotape) whereby we supply the treatment free. Again I don't know if you have such schemes where you are but it might be worth investigating for future b/c from personal experience if your kids have had them once while ever they are associating with the same children they will definately have them again
