That's great!!! Remember, one day at a time!! One workout at a time!! Don't quit, even when you feel bad and it hurts!! Stay with it!! Let me know how your workout went tonight!!!
I did it! I could not get on a treadmill--they were so busy--but I have other options for cardio, so not a big deal. I will be doing that here in a bit. I did leg presses and glutes in addition to the other leg exercises. I also added hip adductions and abductions, as my thighs are a little jello-y. I did the chest flys and reversed them for the delts--I did not remember seeing that on the list you gave me. the big muscle guys were hogging the bench presses and squat machines, so I was not able to do them, but I did do lat pull downs and rows, too.
I could not put on much weight--some were as low as 15 lbs--but the leg presses I did at 70lbs, extensions and curls at 30. By the last set I was really feeling them, but I did them all. The glutes hurt and I wanted to quit, but I stuck it out. I did 10-12 reps on each set for everything.
SO, did I do okay???

You did great!!! Very nice first day!! Remember, there are a lot of different exercises, I just listed a few for you. I know how it is with the power core stations, I have to wait on them too sometimes, but as I usually work out at 5:00 AM. Its usually not too much of an issue! LOL Anyway you are off to a great start. You will probably be sore and tired today, fight through it! Last night was the first day of the rest of your NEW LIFE!!!
MY shoulders are a little sore, but it is a good sore. I slept like a rock for the first time in a long time. I need to start getting to bed earlier so I can capitalize on the fact that I am actually tired and can sleep.
Going to go walk for today and dance with the kids tonight. Seems like perfect cardio! We will have a 30 minute dance party before they go take showers.
I wish I could work out at 5am, but there is no one to stay with the kids. My oldest does not live at home, she lives with her grandmother. Even if she was here, I would need to go to the gym at 4 in order to do cardio and lift and still get home before she had to leave for school. No thank you!
When DH decides to come home, I may need to adjust what time I go to the gym. Maybe I will get lucky and he will go with me, since he and some friends have been doing the P90X workout while he has been on deployment. I can't wait to see him when the ship gets back!!
Thank you for taking the time with me and I will keep you updated on this and the weight loss!

You are going to be a little sore for a bit, goes with the territory! LOL Sounds like things are going right along though. Don't knock the 5 AM workout until you have tried it!! LOL I wouldn't have mine any other way!! Biggest thing is to be consistent in the gym, regardless of time, stay firm on your diet, and give it 100%!! Keep me informed!!
Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I am sore in different areas tonight!
I worked arms and abs tonight. I was also able to jump on the treadmill. I walked 2 miles in 40 minutes. I was really proud of that! I am the most sore from the torso rotation. I have had two hernia surgeries and am over-cautious about my stomach. I kind of baby any lifting or anything that will require having to really stretch those muscles. BUT, I know it is time to do something about them to strengthen them. It has been almost two years since the last surgery. I used almost no weights (10-15lbs). When it started to really hurt, I stopped ratehr than push things.
I still feel good--mostly a sense of accomplishment. Hopefully the rain will stop tonight, or I will be begging my D17 to come over so I can go up and get on the treadmill again for my cardio.
Thank you again, Brave! I needed a way to keep myself motivated and you are really helping me with that.

Don't worry about the weight you are using, it will increase in time. Concentrate on good form and technique, that's the most important thing right now! Listen, you should feel proud of yourself! It took a lot of guts to get in there and work to make a change in yourself! Don't expect it tomorrow, but at the same time, allow yourself to have the miracle that you are looking for!! You told me earlier that you were overweight, I don't know how much, and you don't have to say if you don't want to, and it really doesn't matter. If you will dedicate yourself for 1 year, I swear to you, you will be a total different person!! Take a picture of yourself today, keep it where you and only you can look it it. Write on it March, 20th 2010. That is when you take the next one and compare them! Keep up the AWESOME WORK!! If I can help let me know, and please keep me informed!!!
I won't put my weight on here--there are too many people that know me on Facebook from here! LOL Suffice to say, I could lose a hundred pounds and still not be at the "recommended weight" for my height and frame. However, fortunate or unfortunate, I have never looked my weight.
I am committed to this--I paid a gym membership and I hate to waste money. My D17 is going to take a picture this afternoon and we will hang onto it. I have a wedding to go to in June, and I am hoping for some small changes by then.
Thank God for the day I drifted into a forum I rarely visit. He made sure I found the right thread that day.
