Hold your horses guys. Not that money. He gave me that sum we were discussing before. But that's only about 10% of what I would want/be entitled to in a final financial settlement.

And he didn't fix anything. Not only did he not fix it (not his fault) but he didn't offer to call the furnace guy for me. Just said you need to call them tomorrow if you can't get it to relight tonight. I don't view that as much of an effort.

Um..I vote with Pearl on the not much effort, tho he TRIED to fix it..that's about all of the effort I'd give him. I wasn't even impressed with the fact she called him in the afternoon and he couldn't come until around 7 or something..but that's just me and I'm an "instant mashed potatoes" kinda gal..LOL..he should have dropped what he was doing and rushed over

I think his underwhelming reaction to Pearl yesterday only underscores the false sincerity of his letter to her. The guy's simply not ready, and Pearl's been right to skeptically keep the ball in his court.

To be fair, he did not come over until the evening because I asked him to come later as I needed the time to clean the house and get some laundry done. There was no way I wanted him to see it in the shambles it was in!

For the record, here is a transcript of the texts:

Me: The furnace isn't working. Can you come over later and take a look?

xBF: When?

Me: I should be home around 6. I think it's just the pilot but can't remember how to relight.

xBF: I'm bowling with G & B at 4-I will stop afterwards

Me: Which will be when?

xBF: Probably around 7

FYI - G & B are guys on his bowling team.

8:15am I need a receipt for your 1/29/09 Doctor's appointment

I'm annoyed that this is all he has to say, no asking about the boiler after our phone convo last night. Whatever.

8:18am Don't know if you care or not, but I am no longer hanging out with OW in any capacity.

Hmm, so it finally occurred to him that this might be what I want to hear. I'm sorely tempted to check his email to see if he's telling the truth. I suspect that "hanging out" and talking to are two different things. I know that he's travelling a lot for business this month and last week she asked for those dates which he gave to her.

That's what I think too Puppy, but he doesn't seem to get it. It feels like he expected some huge response from that letter and since he didn't get it he's done.

If he doesn't feel that he needs to go all out then I guess I should take that as my answer. He doesn't really want to be with me and I should move forward without another look back.
