I dont know the answer and perhaps neither will you until something changes. Just don't lose site of what is most important here. Kids can be a lot more adjusted with one good parent rather than 2 non attentive , caught up in their own drama parents living in the same house.
You can give your kids all the loving they need by being their dad and giving them stability, hugs, nourishment and shelter and attention.
