Good luck trying get your h to do some of the work for the divorce.

My stbh is not doing any of the work. I'm resentful about that because this whole thing was put into motion by him, however much I want the divorce now.

I just wish I could press my transmitter and get beyond the divorce as quickly as possible.

What is it with these guys? They want to be single and "be alone" but they won't do anything about it (besides screw around) and leave us to do all the logistic/legal work. Grr.

No, he's not going to do any of the work. I'd love to send Catbitch an email - "It's been almost 2 years, have you noticed that he's STILL married?" But of course I'm on the High Road and I can't get off - not yet anyway.

Pearl I think it assuages their guilt if WE do the work, tho they start it and/or push it to that point..

My Prime Directive for the next two weeks is: PREPARE FOR MEDIATION

1. I will finish the Financial Declaration Form (5 pages long) and gather copies of everything it requires: mortgage papers, insurance, cars, etc.
2. I will have copies of H's credit card bills (the ones that came to the house before he realized duh, I shouldn't let her see those).
3. I will have copies of those credit card monthly payments he's making from our joint bank account ($2,200 so far).
4. I will have copies of cell phone bills with call after call after call to OW - hundreds of text messages too.
5. I will have PHOTOGRAPHS of the house and all the unfinished projects he left.
6. And finally, I will have a list of my terms which I'm working on now and will share later.

I will have all this paperwork in separate, labeled folders carried in a beautiful leather briefcase.

I'm also in the process of planning the most appropriate outfit.

And, a friend of mine is helping me practice various calm, assertive responses to anything H or his L might throw out.

In other words, I'm preparing for the performance of my life. My H will not see the broken, sad W of the past 2 years. It will be a complete 180 for me. When he sees me sitting there looking good, with my folders, and my game face on I want two words to go through his fogged out brain - "Holy Crap".
