I watched it with my H...I'm an AWAW...and I didn't like it. It was upsetting. He acts exactly like that STILL. Just not all the time. And frankly...I thought it was a stupid Hollywood ending. Like wow, he's not selfish anymore. Like magic. Thing is, he really gave his life over to Christ.
My H says, wow we know what it's like to have been "there." Yeah, whatever. Like he ever did any of that. He's bought me flowers and cleans house. I'll say that. Meanwhile everything wrong in our house or R is still my fault. He also seems to think he's a Christian..who never reads the Bible or goes to church...just enough of a Christian to say he wants more of a Christian servant wife.
It was my stupid idea to watch the movie. I had heard so much about it I watched it out of curiosity as much as anything.
H also thought the wife got "too much of a pass" in the movie. What a surprise.
Anyway, don't expect too much, people. I've heard spouses say this will show their WAS's what it means to value marriage. A lot of WAS's were the only ones who valued it til they gave up. All it's going to do is put the pressure on YOU, LBH's, to be like the guy in the movie. That's a pretty tall order. Being a movie and all.
