It was all the more special because I had no expectations. Yes, it is good to know that I, at least occasionally, cross his mind. I sent him an email back thanking him and letting him know what the kids and I had done over the weekend for my birthday. I did mention that it would have been nice to have him here, too, but that I know that the needs of the Navy come first. I don't think it was too bad, at least not in the context I did it. Maybe it was pursuing, not sure.

I had a marvelous day! My mom cooked me all of my favorites, the kids all spoiled me, and the email from DH made the icing on my cake day very thick indeed!

I hope you feel better. I made my chicken soup with noodles, lots of lemon and lots and lots of red and black pepper - eastern way. I learned it in Asia and it seems to help relieve flu and cold symptoms. It's quite tasty, too.

Yeah, we are STILL bummed about F, but what can you do, right???? I dialed for two hours straight on house and cell, as did many people from the church and around the country. It was not meant to be. But, God made sure everyone knew who she was by the way she made the top 36. Only God knows what He has in store for her in the future!
She still cannot sing at church as she is still technically under contract to AI. Anything could happen, I guess.

Stick around a bit and keep checking on me. I am going to need more support as the end of deployment draws nearer. Any insight on the little I have posted about? there really has not been anything new and the emails still go back and forth pretty regularly (barring the week straight without having one that I just went through)--we are averaging 3 or so a week normally.
The one question I keep coming back to is will I take him back if the kids are the only reason he wants to come home. Of course, this is a little premature to think about, but it still creeps into my mind every now and again.
