Hmmmm... just opened email from W sent last night - thanking me for great lunch and filling me in on a bit of detail from H's afternoon - he went to swimming party...and then she asks - do you have the chimney rods cos her chimney needs sweeping - and would I like to do it! Well I do have them...but thrown a bit on the invitation to sweep her chimney!
A few months ago I would have crawled over broken glass to do that - but acts of service like that for her have never got me anything in return - I tried that cheeseless tunnel for years!
She even offered to pay me!
I don't know what to do here - give her the chimney rods and not mention anything more, sweep the chimney for nothing - just out of kindness, do a deal - no need to pay me, just by me a meal out sometime, or perhaps treat it as a fair exchange for the theatre tomorrow eve...
