FLTC, the negotiation phase is often a hellish adventure, even when you and your STBX get along, not saying that you do ! I remember finally ironing out the details and my STBX met with her lawyer and signed off and then she phones me right afterwards and says she wants to make some changes! WTF. She told me what she wanted and they were no big deal so I phoned my lawyer and he said "Whatis you don't need me for these, you can just write those kind of changes up yourself, get witnesses and that's that" I said "just do it, so I can get rid of this woman!" So the day I signed off, I signed amendments too! Actually, it worked out well as my lawyer put in some stuff STBX didn't want like the schedule for having the kids. We had in there that both parties would split time with the kids 50/50 but no detailed schedule. He said he couldn't make an amendment to a schedule that does not yet exist in the Agreement. STBX wanted to have kids on Chinese New Year, as if I'd stop her! I said to him "Hey, I really like the way you stuck that schedule in on her" and he said "I'm your lawyer, not hers" She had been opposed to putting in the schedule basically because she's a control freak but my lawyer was saying it was best for me to have the schedule put in. Honestly, I was just tired of hassling with the woman over petty sh*t. It did all work out in the end, as will your sitch. Take care.
