Absolutely, you have every right to give him a final deadline for getting his stuff out. You don't have to be snotty about it, but can say something like "In order for me to be able to get closure emotionally, and for my own privacy, I'm sure you'd agree that we need to have this done. Please make sure that on _______ you can get whatever remains of your things, I would appreciate it."
As for the bank transfer, I'm still highly suspicious of him. Why don't you just ask him for a bank draft for the funds, and then you can go deposit them into your account? Why does this HAVE to be an electronic transfer?
