Mon ami,
you think your relationship with your family may be a problem and Lan read his wife is not gonna change... WOW!!

Well, you know I can identify with the part about man-woman roles, I think there is NO way when roles get confused that at least some problems will not surface. When I read the book, being a woman, I kept thinking : wow, this is what we f@cked up and WOW!!! this kind of man I need and want...
I think finding your purpose in life, is essential for everybody. (My purpose in life is to...have sex!!! \:\) LOL!!)

Of course that doesnt necessarily mean you or Lan or anyone else are not Superior Men already. I know I have met one, maybe 2 in my life.

My suggestion is read the book once, get the general idea and then go back and see IF you need to think about anything in paricular...

You raised your voice and that is big? God I am a bad mom, we yell all the time in my home. Of course we are more....loud than you guys are but I think that is where I really need to work regarding my kids.

PS Neil Young: It wasnt addressed to anyone in particular. It was addressed to the yet unknown man out there....

What i got from the book so far is that our roles got mixed up and that i have no real purpose in life. Actually, I wonder how many folks actually have a purpose in life....other than having sex.
I need to move away from what went wrong to how I move ahead while reading this book. I guess the fact that I think about the past as I read speaks volumes about where i am at. (things that make you go hummmm). that may be the litmus test (I love saying that) on whether we have detached fully or not. If you read a self help book and all you can do is think back and very little forward than maybe...it is still too fresh.
I raised my voice and D8 had tears in her eyes...that is what is big...for me anyway. I could have handled it differently. i could have calmly discussed why she finds it difficult to do little things for her dad when he asks politely...especially since her dad does alot of little things for her.
By the way...i don't buy the Neil Young thing....also, if it is addressed to an unknown man, it means that you have given up on the man / men in your life.

Hi John -

How did D8 like ice skating? We went on Saturday and S8 is a wall hugger, but he likes it nonetheless. D6 has much more experience on the ice, but she sure was whining a lot about it being cold. She was making excuses about her brother being too slow. I have my own hockey skates now and am getting better every time.

Since you are talking about Canadian lyrics, my personal favorite is from Rush...

Attention all Planets of the Solar Federation
Attention all Planets of the Solar Federation

I figured you would be a Rush fan...aren't they from the North west?

Ice skating is quickly developing into D8's favourite winter sport. I need to incorporate hockey sticks and a puck.....maybe next weekend. She is not a big fan of downhill skiing...chicken...like her old man. We have all the equipment but we both prefer to be elsewhere I guess.

Actually the first thing she said to her mom when i dropped her off is that she had been skating with me.....nice!

I am not much of a Rush and they are from Toronto.

Yesterday, we watched a little bit of hockey on TV and S8 seemed to enjoy it.

my XW may have taken on more masculine roles and me more feminine ones....that may have contributed to our problems.

LMAO!!!!!

Hey Mike...glad you are back.....just trying to make heads or tales out of that superior man book. I may need to get a little more masculine and tone down the feminine side in order to keep the ladies on their guard. Sorry ladies just paraphrasing what i am reading LOL.

By the way Mike, I am extremely jealous....golf outing !!!! I need to wait till the end of april to play golf....unless....
